New track by an artist I was previously unaware of: Lusine.
As Larry Fitzmaurice says in his Pitchfork review,
The track shimmys and bounces
Give it a listen, if you dig minimal, quietly energetic electronica, you won’t be disappointed.

Wow. Listen to this: “Sam” by Pisces from 1968.
I’d never heard of this band before. After a little research, it appears not too many people do, either. Definitely worth a listen though. That echoing drum hit (I’m thinking ?uestlove likes it too ;)), that aching heart voice, that lo fi guitar…
Mike Mictlan. Doomtree. yes
It’s all this coke, it’s all that liq / it’s all the fame / It’s all been done, it’s all been fixed / it’s all the same
Remembering just how brilliant Sasquatch Music Fest was earlier this year…
… and crowdsurfs like there ain’t no tomorrow
while Alabama Shakes destroy the crowd with their blistering afternoon set
This sounds promising:

From Music BC’s press release:

Introducing…
The BC MUSIC LIBRARY
For Music BC Members
Get your songs placed in film, television and video games!
The Music BC Library has been launched in order to help BC artists get their songs placed in film, television and video games.
Current members may upload up to 10 songs to the library, which has been carefully tailored to be attractive and useful to music supervisors who are constantly looking for new music to source. The service is set up for artists who control both their songs and their sound recordings – making it a one stop shop for music supervisors from around the world to find incredible music. Music BC is able to clear any use in order that editors and directors can move quickly with the use of desired musical cues.
Music BC charges a small administration fee if a song is placed and will never take any interest in public performance revenues.
You must be a current paid member for your songs to be approved!

Wow whatta track. Absolutely gorgeous title track from Helio Sequence’s newest album, easily one of my favourite this year
Wow
No words. Just watch. With a warning: this is not for the faint hearted.
The final stop in their North American tour, David Byrne and St Vincent bring Love This Giant to Vancouver BC this Saturday October 20, 2012.
Fingers crossed I get approved for a photographer’s pass. It’d make my year, hand’s down.
This is freakin’ genius: a Choose Your Own Adventure music video!?!!
… & hey! the song’s killer too!
HUGE props to The Gay Nineties (the band) and Brass Tacks Films (the production team) – applause all ’round!!
