POP Montreal 2011 – How An Obsession With Live Music & Art Flew Me Across The Country On A Whim

Completely irresponsibly, both for time and money, I decided the night before to travel to Montreal, Quebec for POP Montreal, a festival of international music, as well as art, film, symposiums, and all sorts of fantastic stuff.

The festival is 5 days long; in this 10th incarnation, it ran from Wednesday September 21st to Sunday September 25th. I flew on Tuesday, to give myself time to adjust to the city and get my bearings, since I had never spent any significant amount of time here.
Luckily, I was treated like a king, both by my hosts (thank you thank you eternally for being so amazing, Cat & Feo, and Ed & Vicki!!) and by the POP Montreal organizers.

I was so inspired by my experience at POP Montreal, that I am going to apply to work for them in 2012. Truly amazing, passionate, hard working people creating a thoroughly enjoyable, diverse, exciting festival.

Here, I will celebrate my favourite moments and shots, but for my full accounts of the 5 days of POP Montreal, read my posts on The Snipe News:

Thank you POP Montreal! To all the organizers, volunteers, artists, bands, publicists, and anyone else involved in the festival – thank you! My week in Montreal was one of the best times I’ve had lately! I’ll be back next year…
